Description
Float Registered Nurse (RN)
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing quality professional nursing care to patients and their families. The responsibility includes providing a safe environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary care team to provide the best outcomes for the patient and family. The Registered Nurse will float between the following areas; overflow, acuity visits, routine visits, and death visits to help support Primary Nurses case load.
Schedule: 4 days per week, 9-hour shifts 8a-5p, minimum every 3rd weekend, 1 on-call shift every 5-6 weeks, 2 holidays per year
As a Float Registered Nurse, you will be responding promptly to urgent patient and family needs. Provide compassionate nursing assessments and interventions based on the patients and their needs while offering support and comfort for both patients and their families. Communication is key, with the nurse reporting changes to the primary team, attending physicians, and families. Additionally, educating patients and their families on symptom management, medication, and disease progression.

Maintain regular and reliable attendance
Shares in providing 24-hour, seven-day-a-week coverage
Prioritize daily work and make adjustments taking into account the needs of patients, Unity, and other staff.
Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Unity.
Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state, and federal regulations and/or Unity’s policies and procedures.

Requirements
Education
Associate’s degree in nursing required, Bachelor’s degree nursing preferred.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
RN license in the state of practice required (RN must practice under the law and regulations governing nursing in the state of practice).
